Night Owling @ El Yunque National Forest
On-site Program
New regulations in the Forest allows us to go for the Screech Owl up to one
hour after sunset. Starting in 2015, this alternative will be offered during
Winter time. Starting time will depend on the time the Sun shuts down. In
order to guarantee this unique opportunity to see our little owl, you must
reserve at least working 48 hours before selected date. If you want to see
the glow-in-the-dark mushroom, please book the night hike.
Please take note: El Yunque is closed on December 25th.

Puerto Rican Nightjar Quest
On-site Program
The Puerto Rican Nightjar is one of our endangered species. Although we
have several sites to look for it, depending the time of the year and the
number of participants, we only go to one site per night and stay not longer
than 45 minutes. As we will like for our customers to see the bird, this species
is "far more often heard than seen" (Oberle, 2006).
During the Summer, you will have the opportunity to listen to the bird while
seeing and hearing the Antillean Nighthawk.
Night Owling @ Ceiba
On-site Program
If you are staying in one of the hotels located in Fajardo and want to look for
our Sreech-Owl, this option could probably be the best. They sing almost
every night around our office. You can join one of our staff for a maximum of
half hour. Check this link for the latest picture.
100% of the proceedings of this option will be donated for our environmental
education program--Proyecto Mucarito.
100% of your money will be donated to Proyecto Mucarito.

Night Owling @ Western / North Belt / South
On-site Program
We have several options to go for the Screech-Owl in other regions of the
mainland of Puerto Rico. Prices will vary depending on selected location.
100% of the proceedings of this option will be donated for our
environmental education program--Proyecto Mucarito.
Looking for the Puerto Rican Screech Owl?
Night outings are offered for individuals and small groups on a private basis. The Nightjar Quest is only available on the western side of the Island, while we can go in search of the Screech Owl in different locations. Fruit Bats show up at El Yunque National Forest. The Antillean Nighthawk will be seen during the Summer, specially in Ceiba.
Please contact us for availability and price.
